The Magic of Painting

Jolanda Jeklin was born in Ljubljana in 1976.
She is artistically connected with both Slovenia and Poland. Her first artistic experiences were gained in 2000, participating in classes at the Community Center on2000, uczestnicząc w zajęciach w Domu Kultury na ul. Łazienkowska Street in Warsaw. From 2003 to 2007, she was associated with an informal artistic group under the direction of Wojtek Pąkowski, creating paintings and sculptures, as well as her first mandala in mosaic technique. Between 2008 and 2009, she created the painting series Abstractions, and from 2012 to 2013, she produced pastel portraits and self-portraits as well as marine paintings Since 2013, she has been creating works in painting and graphic techniques, as well as installations, including the series titled Cities, Mandalas, and White is Beautiful, along with works depicting the Soča River and Metaphysical paintings.

Painting is the dance of the soul with color. It is a passion that burns on the canvas, telling stories without words.

She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in painting under the guidance of Antoni Fałat at the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw, and a graphic art annex under the guidance of Prof. Ryszard Osadczy (2008-11).

She undertook Master’s studies at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Computer Techniques, majoring in New Media Art in Warsaw (2011-12). She obtained her Master’s degree in painting in 2015, in the studio of Prof. Stanisław Kortyka and in the supplementary studio of Dr. habil. Norman Smużniak, at the Institute of Visual Arts of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Zielona Góra.

Since 2015, she has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and the Neuer Sächsischer Kunstverein in Dresden. She currently lives and creates in Warsaw. However, she still participates in the artistic life of Zielona Góra, where she has clearly marked her presence over the past three years, including participating in individual and group exhibitions organized and co-organized by, among others, the Institute of Visual Arts of the University of Zielona Góra under the curatorial care of Dr. Lidia Głuchowska and Prof. Magdalena Gryska, as well as Prof. Magdalena Gryska, as well as Prof. Stanisław Kortyka and Dr. Janina Wallis. Since 2015, she has lived alternately in Warsaw and Tolmin, Slovenia.
